Day #2! It just keeps getting better and better!

FOR GRADES 2ND-6TH
POR GRADOS 2-6

Parents: Buses will run normal routes today. We may have to run alternate routes during the weeks to come, as we are trying to accommodate for available bus drivers. Mr. Self is working to get the routes stabilized and get our students home as quickly as possible. Please be patient as we make these adjustments.

Come join our team!

The first day getting started is always the most exciting! We're so glad to have our students back on campus. It was a day for new friends and familiar faces. All the smiles proved it was successful! Thank you for letting us be a part of your children's lives.

It has a great, albeit hectic, day for Gurdon Public Schools! We would just like to remind everyone that with all of the changes, there may be some delays on the afternoon pick ups and bus routes. Due to a driver shortage, we have one bus route that is going to be doubled. This may cause a delay of some IN TOWN students getting dropped off by about 45 minutes. Mr. Self is working to get all of our students home as timely as he possibly can and we appreciate his efforts.

Gurdon Public Schools would like to thank the Blue & You Foundation for three $1,969.92 grants to Gurdon Primary School, Cabe Elementary School, and Gurdon High School! The $5,909.76 total funded the purchase of 3 new Zoll AEDs, 3 sets of pediatric AED pads, and 1 AED Trainer to ensure that our students, staff and community are safe in the event of a cardiac emergency on campus or at school events. Be Great!

AAA Benefit (scrimmage) game info:
Gurdon will scrimmage Hackett on Thursday August 17th. The game will be played at Mena High School and admission is $5. Junior high will begin at 6pm with Senior high beginning after the conclusion of the junior high portion.

GREAT day working with our future Go-Devils at youth football camp!!!

Welcome Back! GHS is ready to see you!! The first bell of the new school year will ring at 7:55am on Monday August 14, don't be late! Parents, all students will need to be dropped off on the sidewalk in the back of the building. STUDENT DRIVERS, remember we have more and younger students on campus this year, be careful when pulling in and parking! Please do not block the buses. Schedules that were not picked up during registration or Open House will be available in the lobby before school. PLEASE make sure all paperwork is completed and returned by Friday the 18th. Chromebooks will not be issued until paperwork is completed. Thank you to all who have helped us with the transition this summer and all the support we receive throughout the year. It is always a great day to be a Go-Devil!

Today our nursing staff taught "Stop the Bleed" to our faculty and staff. Blood loss is the number one cause of preventable death after injury. Participation in this program ensures that our staff is prepared to respond quickly and appropriately to a bleeding emergency. In addition, all of our classrooms will soon be stocked with "Stop the Bleed" emergency kits. Be Great!

GHS OPEN HOUSE! Come meet the 7-12 GHS faculty Thursday 8/10 from 4-6pm. You can turn in paperwork and pick up schedules as well. We are gearing up for the year!

Mrs. Neathery always goes above and beyond in everything she does for our kiddos! She strives to EXCEL and pushes students to do the same! Thanks Mrs. Neathery! #begreat
