Parents - our 8th, 10th and 12th grade students will be taking the APNA survey on November 28. APNA (Arkansas Prevention Needs Assessment Student Survey) is sponsored by the AR Dept. of Human Services and results are used to help plan substance abuse prevention strategies and programs. This is a completely anonymous and voluntary survey that takes about 45 minutes to complete. A letter will be sent home with students tomorrow. If you would prefer that your student NOT participate in the APNA survey, please send the denial of permission slip on the bottom of the letter back to school before November 27.
Gurdon School District has been awarded a $16,519.00 NSLP equipment assistance grant for a new double convection gas oven in our GHS/CES cafeteria! We can't wait to put it to use cooking healthy and tasty meals for our students! #BeGreat

Exciting news! Thanks to the generous support from Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield, we're thrilled to announce that our school is one of 75 selected to receive a $2,500.00 grant to create a calming room for students. 🎉 This dedicated space will provide a peaceful retreat for those in need of a moment to recharge and find inner balance. GAMEDAY!!!

GHS is recognizing our November standouts! First is our Staff of the Month! We actually have two to recognize but we will start with Mr. Self! Everyone knows how hard it has been to run our bus routes this year, he has operated with grace under pressure and we SO appreciate him!!

Our district Veterans Day program will begin at 9:30 in the auditorium tomorrow. Veterans will have rows reserved for them Cabe will have seating on one side and GHS on the other. We invite parents/community to fill in behind the veteran seating in the middle.

Our second Staff member to be recognized is Ms. Renee Dickens! She does everything for us from duty, to enrichment, to filling in wherever needed! We love Renee!

Labralon Washington is always smiling and brings positive energy! We are lucky to have some GREAT seniors!

Rounding out our faculty selection for November star students is freshman, Hayden Smith! Hayden is a great addition to all of his classes and his team! Respectful and dedicated, he's a GREAT one!

We have some GREAT kids at GHS! November has given us 4 star students! Seniors first, Ja'Mya Garland was chosen by the faculty because of her willingness to help any time!

If you need a cup of Devil's Brew before school, Courtney Woolf might be serving it for Close Up! This junior class has some GREAT one! Courtney is one of the first to campus to get that coffee going! Thank you, Courtney!

Our Teacher of the Month at GHS, Coach Morrow! Coach Morrow is always willing to step in wherever needed and works to give his kids the best in his classroom and on the track! Thank you Coach Morrow!
