GAMEDAY!

Our Agri students have been hard at work on a range of exciting projects! Ag Mechanics students are mastering the new scroll saw, purchased through the Modernization Grant – a fantastic addition to help develop their technical skills. Survey students wrapped up their Dairy Cattle and Products unit with a hands-on (and delicious!) activity: making ice cream! Learning has never been so sweet. Animal Science students explored the skeletal and muscle systems through interactive modeling, diving deep into the science behind animal structure and movement.
Also, Courtney, Lyla, Kyle, and Conner proudly represented our FFA Chapter at the Impact Leadership Conference at Camp Couchdale.

Congratulations to Mollee Manning!
Three seniors from local high schools received Good Citizen awards from the Arkadelphia Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution at a tea and chapter meeting Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2024, at Second Baptist Church in Arkadelphia.
Those receiving awards were: Julia Greenwich, Arkadelphia High School; Mollee Manning, Gurdon High; and Linden Green, Ouachita High.
Avery Efird of Bismarck High and Raylea Barrett of Centerpoint also earned the award for their schools but were unable to attend the ceremony.
High school faculty members and students chose each school’s Good Citizen by vote. Selection was based on leadership, dependability, service and patriotism.
Each winner received a lapel pin and a certificate from the Arkadelphia chapter.
Mollee Manning plays on the basketball, softball and track teams at Gurdon High. She also serves as president of her school’s Future Farmers of America Chapter. Her parents are Rusty and Stephanie Manning.
The Good Citizen Award was organized by DAR member Jamie Ward.
Terry Hagood is Chapter Regent for Arkadelphia.

Gurdon has been awarded a $1,000.00 grant from the Clark County Community Foundation to support the ALE Urban Garden Project! Our ALE students have been working hard to learn life skills. This funding will support that effort through students learning how to prepare, plant, tend and harvest a garden plot. Thank you Clark County Community Foundation! Please go to https://www.arcf.org/affiliates/clark-county/ to find out more about this great organization.
