Adulting 101 at Gurdon High School!! Mrs. Ledbetter and several GHS teachers have conducted daily "Adulting" lessons with 11th and 12th grade students. Some skills included how to fill out job applications and how to conduct yourself in an interview. Students were given information on banking and renting an apartment. They learned some basic auto maintenance like how to change a tire. They "completed" their Adulting 101 with cooking fundamentals and fire safety. Mrs. Ledbetter wrapped lessons up today by teaching the students how to cook breakfast. The most important meal of the day! A big thank you to all who participated!

Next week will be a very busy one at GHS! 9th and 10th grade will be taking the ACT Aspire on Wednesday and Thursday. It is important that they arrive on time, with their charged computers, and ready to go! They have worked hard the last month to prepare for this, we are ready to see what they can do! Juniors and Seniors aren't missing out! On Wednesday the 26th they have the opportunity to attend Draft Day at LHHS to visit with area schools and industries. On Friday the 28th, we will have our own College and Career Fair for them to explore their future. Please help us to encourage our students to give it their all no matter what the week holds for them!

Attention: Families who have Medicaid or AR Kids health coverage. Medicaid is requiring eligibility renewals again for the first time since 2020. If Medicaid does not have up-to-date contact information for you or if you do not return your renewal form you will lose health coverage. Medicaid estimates that 455,925 (or 37% of those currently enrolled) will be ineligible due to income change or lack of updated contact information. What you can do to make sure you receive your renewal forms: -Call the Update Arkansas hotline at 1-844-872-2660. -Go online at access.arkansas.gov, log-in or create an account to add your current contact information. -Contact the Access Arkansas Call Center to find out information regarding your Medicaid case 855-372-1084. -Visit the local DHS office to ensure your contact information on file is correct.
