On Friday, June 24th, the Gurdon School Board met in a special called meeting to interview and later hire Mr. Andrew Vining as Interim Superintendent beginning July 1, 2022. Mr. Vining will serve in that capacity while the school board does a thorough search for the next Superintendent of Schools.
Mr. Vining is a retired superintendent with many years of experience leading school districts in the capacity of Superintendent. He earned a BA in Economics and Business Administration and a Master's of Science in Education from Ouachita Baptist University, and obtained his principal and superintendent certifications from the University of Central Arkansas. His superintendency roles include Searcy County School District from 1999-2014, Clinton School District from 2015-2018, and most recently an interim position at Russellville School District, 2021-2022.
Mr. Vining brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Gurdon School District during this transitional period of time. Please welcome him to Go-Devil Country!
